President William Ruto has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, saying STEM is key to preparing Kenyan learners for future careers.
The Head of State said that, to expand access to quality, competency-based learning, the Government will empower the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA) to continue supporting teacher training programmes. This is part of the effort to cultivate an innovative generation of learners expected to drive the country's technological advancement. He spoke during celebrations marking this year's World Teachers' Day at Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi.
